COVID-19 Response

Dear Grace Adventures Family,

2021 has started off incredibly well. Though we continue to make adjustments to our programs we are so blessed to have been able to serve over 600 middle and high school students through our Winter Blast retreats. We are now entering a season full of activity as we serve school groups this spring and plan for summer.

We know that Summer Camp and family camping at Dunes Harbor have always done this, but getting kids and families outside, interacting face-to-face in positive ways, and building healthy relationships away from screens and the distractions of everyday life is so important. And because of the isolation caused by COVID, it is more crucial now than ever! We would love to serve your family this summer!

Grace Adventures is more committed than ever to impacting children, adults, and families with Jesus Christ. Thank you for partnering with us in this life-changing mission. We are grateful for you!

Health and Safety

We continue to implement a number of practices to maintain and extend our safety protocols for guests and our staff:

  • We are monitoring federal, state, and local information related to COVID-19
  • We are providing ongoing training for staff in safe and effective cleaning practices
  • Masks are not required to be worn by campers, staff, or guests but they are still encouraged and welcome if they feel more comfortable, are immunocompromised, or have been directed by parents or doctors to do so.
  • Posting content regarding recommended handwashing procedures in restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas to increase awareness of simple prevention methods
  • Increased cycles and procedures for frequent cleaning and disinfection of high-touch areas
  • Use of CDC recommended cleaning supplies and disinfectants throughout our facility
  • Adjustment of staff schedules and working arrangements, where necessary, to support social distancing practices

Program Updates

Due to the constantly changing environment and as new government directives are given, some of our programs have be rescheduled, postponed, or cancelled. Find an update on your event here.

Summer Camp - Running Now!

We continue to work with our local health department and State of Michigan licensing department to mitigate risk and provide a physically, spiritually, and emotionally safe environment for your family this summer.

We are making adjustments to activities so that campers spend a majority of their time outdoors. Additional changes we are making include reduced cabin capacities, modified food service protocols, and enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures.

See a set of commonly asked questions about our Summer Camp COVID-19 Policies on our Camp FAQs webpage.

Grace Adventures continues to closely monitor local, state, and national statements regarding the novel coronavirus cases and following the directives from these agencies. The health and safety of our staff and those we serve is our highest priority.

We have developed protocols that will allow us to minimize risk and create a safe environment to serve children, adults, and families keeping in mind information from the following:

  • Federal, State, and MDHHS mandates
  • CDC, State, and local health department recommendations
  • Proper mitigation processes that can realistically be implemented
  • What is wise for our guests and staff

We are Praying for You

Most importantly, please know that we are praying for you.  We know that it can be difficult to be isolated from family and businesses and portfolios may be struggling.  If there's anything you need or any specific ways we can be praying for you and your family, please let us know.

Like Caleb and Joshua, the two spies who gave Israel a favorable report of the Promised Land, we are eagerly looking forward to what God will continue to do through His people and Grace Adventures in spite of the challenges ahead.  God has been so faithful for the last 74 years and we know that he will continue to be faithful for generations to come.  We covet your prayers during this time and will continue to lift you up as well.
