Ascent GAP Year
Are you a high school graduate feeling unsure or pressured when it comes to what’s next?
As we go through life’s journey, all of us as young adults face a mountain of possibilities. However, no one climbs to greatness by chance. They have to
have a clear vision and plan of where they are going. The Ascent program exists to equip young adults with the skills necessary to “climb” and transform their character to sustain them during the “climb” so that they can reach new heights in life’s journey. Taking a gap year allows students the opportunity to gain a better understanding of themselves, have clear direction of God’s purpose for their life, and an action plan to fulfill that purpose. The Ascent Gap Year covers all of these areas while also allowing students to earn college credit.

Be Equipped
Gain short-term, full-time, real ministry experience working alongside our full-time team. You'll be equipped personally, professionally, and spiritually in character-based servant leadership.
Grow Spiritually
We believe that a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ is central to our lives. That is why the Ascent Gap Year Program is focused on teaching Biblical principles, living in a Christian community, and encouraging involvement in the local church.
Gain Direction
We desire that each Ascent student would leave with a better understanding of him or herself, have clear direction of God’s purpose for their life, and an action plan to fulfill that purpose.
Live In Community
Students will live in the community of Grace Adventures and Oceana County by interacting with others here at Grace and attending a local church.

No two students learn at the same pace or style. The Ascent Program offers a variety of ways to learn both in and outside of the classroom.

Earn College Credit
Grace Christian University
- Upon completion, Ascent Gap Year students are eligible to receive up to 18 credits (upon program of study) at Grace Christian University.

Anchor Christian University
- This is an optional addition to your Ascent experience. The program cost is the responsibility of the student.
- Enroll in college alongside your Ascent Gap Year experience and earn credits towards a bachelor's degree.
